Compare groups: JavaScript Data Grid Demo
Pick two or more services and read which test the grid chose and why, the p-value, the interval, the effect size and a one-sentence verdict
grid.statistics.compare({ measure, by, groups })
The grid holds ten thousand cloud cost lines. Tick two or more services and the card beside it compares their monthly cost, naming the test the grid chose, why, the p-value, the interval, the effect size and a verdict sentence.
Is the difference between these groups real?
Two averages that differ do not say whether the difference is more than the spread of the rows. The card here runs the comparison over the rows the filters leave and shows each part of the answer: the test, the reason it was picked, the statistic, the p-value, an interval on the difference and an effect size with its label. The verdict line says it in one sentence.
The result is observational. It describes the rows on screen and cannot say why the groups differ. No correction is applied for comparing many groups, so a sweep across every pair needs one of your own.
How do I compare groups in code?
Call grid.statistics.compare({ measure: 'cost', by: 'service', groups: ['GPU Compute', 'Object Storage'] }). Leave groups out to compare every group. The default test: 'auto' picks from the data and names its choice in test and reason. The result also holds statistic, pValue, interval, effectSize, groups and verdict. It returns null when a group has fewer than three readings or no variation.
