What happened
Informational. A number column's raw value was a string that the column's locale could not read as a number - not a thousands separator or a decimal mark it misses, just not a number ("n/a", a label, an empty string). It is stored as NaN: present, excluded from sums, counts and averages, and sorted after every real number, the same way any other unparseable float64 cell already is.
The fix
Clean the source data, or declare a different type if the column is not purely numeric.
