What happened

The grid is pivoting over a pushdown source and the engine was not asked, for the reason named: the adapter does not declare capabilities.pivot (a REST, OData, GraphQL or DFQL endpoint has no grouped aggregate to ask for), or part of the query did not push, so the engine would pivot the wrong set. A remote source holds a window, not the leaves, so there is nothing to pivot in the browser either: the fetch is refused with the error code pushdown:pivot-unsupported, the grid shows the refusal in its error overlay, and no row is requested.

The fix

Pivot over an adapter that declares capabilities.pivot (DuckDB, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, Splunk in blocking mode), or implement executePivotLevel on your own. Where the reason is a filter, sort or quick search that did not push, narrow the query to what the adapter takes. lastPlan().pivotReason carries the reason programmatically.
