What happened

The icon option is not an icon name or an icon options object, or its field is not a column of the grid, so it names no icon for a point. Points are drawn as circles.

The fix

Pass an icon name, or { field, map, default } naming a column of the grid.

The smallest fix

icon: { field: 'kind', map: { cabinet: 'cabinet', splice: 'splice' }, default: 'pole' }
