What happened

createMapView draws the rows of a grid, so its first argument must be one (a grid from createGrid or createHeadlessGrid). It was something else, or nothing, so no map was made.

The fix

Pass the grid as the first argument.

The smallest fix

createMapView(grid, { container: '#map', geometry: { lat: 'latitude', lng: 'longitude' } });
