What happened

A [data-lattice-map] element must be bound to a live grid so the viewer has rows to draw: either a data-lattice-bind="<grid id>" attribute naming a grid host element that carries a live __lattice, or a config.grid string doing the same. Neither resolved to a live grid, so nothing was built and the element was left as-is.

The fix

Point the element at a hydrated grid - give the grid's host element a matching id and the map host a data-lattice-bind with that id, or put a grid: "<grid id>" key in the map's config.
