What happened

A spatial condition reached the filter kernel with an operand it cannot read - a box whose west edge is east of its east edge (the antimeridian, which is not handled), a withinPolygon operand that is not a polygon, a withinDistance without lon, lat and metres. The condition matches no row. A grid's own filters.set() refuses such a condition before it installs; this is the path a host reaches by calling the kernel or testValue directly.

The fix

Give the operand the operator expects. For a box across the antimeridian, split it into two withinBbox conditions joined by or.
