What happened

update patches the rows of a kind: 'rows' source in place. The named source is some other kind (pushdown, router, grid), which has no local rows array to patch, so nothing changed and false was returned.

The fix

Replace a non-rows source wholesale with setSources instead, which re-queries a pushdown source.

designer.setSources({ orders: { kind: 'pushdown', adapter } });
