What happened

The dashboard mounts its layout on the element it is given, and what it was given has no appendChild (an id string or a selector, say). Nothing was built, and dashboard.problems() names it.

The fix

Pass the element itself.

createDashboard(document.querySelector('#dash'), spec, factories);
