What happened

A ramp-coloured chart (a heatmap, a geomap, a map's density cells, or the opt-in calendar, hexbin, hexmap or choropleth) named no ramp.scale, and its finite positive values span more than two orders of magnitude. On a linear ramp every value below the top decade would draw in nearly the palest shade, so the chart placed values on a log scale instead: equal ratios are equal steps of colour, and the legend is labelled at powers of ten. chart.provenance().ramp reports { scale: 'log', auto: true, ratio } on every draw. Said once per chart.

The fix

Nothing, if the log scale reads well. To keep the linear scale, set ramp: { scale: 'linear' }; for equal-count classes, ramp: { scale: 'quantile' }. Naming a scale also silences this note.
