What happened

markermap, bubblemap and choropleth place a row from a geometry column or from a lon/lat pair, never both - choosing between them silently would draw a map from whichever the chart picked, not from whichever the caller meant.

The fix

Give the chart geometry: '<column>' alone, or lon/lat alone.
