What happened

A value-axis brush: 'filter' writes one between on the measure column behind the dragged axis. That axis carries several measure columns (or none), so there is no single column the range belongs to, and nothing was written.

The fix

Put one measure on the axis you brush (axis: 'right' on a measure moves it to y2), or brush the x axis.
