What happened
A chart's animation option held a value the chart cannot read: a negative or non-numeric duration or budget, an easing that is neither one of 'linear', 'ease-in', 'ease-out', 'ease-in-out' nor a function, an entry or update that is not true or false, or an animation that is not true, false or an object. Each is named in the message, and the default plays in its place.
The fix
Give animation true, false, or an object of a duration in milliseconds, a named easing or a function, true/false for entry and update, and a mark budget.
The smallest fix
createChart({ grid, container, type: 'bar', x: 'region', y: 'sales', animation: { duration: 300, easing: 'ease-in-out' } });
