What happened

The grid the chart was bound to was destroyed (an htmx swap, a page-framework teardown, or a host call to grid.destroy()). The chart stays mounted - its element and last drawing remain - but stops following the dead grid, and a draw draws nothing rather than throwing on the torn-down store.

The fix

Point the chart at the replacement grid with chart.rebind(grid), or declare data-lattice-bind="<grid id>" on its container so the htmx module re-binds it automatically after a swap.

chart.rebind(newGrid);
