What happened

A floatingBar or horizontalFloatingBar was given a single column (or no y at all). A floating bar spans between two values per category, so without a pair there is nothing to draw between and the chart is left empty.

The fix

Give y the two columns the bar spans, low first: y: ['low', 'high']. For one value measured from a baseline use a bar instead.

The smallest fix
