What happened

editable was set on a chart whose marks cannot be dragged: a type other than line, step, area, bar, horizontalBar, scatter, bubble, floatingBar, horizontalFloatingBar, pie or donut; a stacked or percent chart; small multiples; or a floating bar on a time axis. No handles are drawn.

The fix

Use editable on one of the supported types, unstack the chart, or drop multiples. A time-valued floating bar is edited in the grid.
