What happened

annotate.remove(id) was called with an id that names no mark currently on the layer - already removed, from a different grid, or never a real id at all. Nothing was removed and the layer is unchanged.

The fix

Use an id from grid.annotate.list() or the id add()/the eraser returned, and remove it only once.

The smallest fix

grid.annotate.remove(grid.annotate.list()[0].id);
